Dance Fitness for your Mind, Body & Soul
DanceCore is an hour-long workout for the Body, Mind and Soul, with short fun easy to follow sequences incorporating different styles of DANCE
to carefully curated dance tracks.
No dance experience is necessary –
just a love of movement and good music!
Exercise shouldn’t be a chore;
it should be a part of the day that you look forward to.
Dance from Within and Find your Inner Dancer!
I am a dance fitness instructor who is passionate about making fitness accessible, sustainable and most importantly FUN! Exercising in a way that focuses on feeding your soul as well as your body, will make you want to show up every week and give you results that make a difference
to how you both look and feel.
Dance is a great full body workout, targeting the small and large muscle groups as well as your cardiovascular system.
It even burns more calories than running, swimming or cycling!
Lindsay, St Albans
During my time as a professional dancer, I toured the world with various dance companies, doing a career I adored. After I finished performing, a career in TV Production and three small people followed, before I returned to the studio and my first love of DANCE. Having taught in gyms in North London and St Albans – I wanted to blend my love of dance and fitness together and so DanceCore was born.
In addition to my Diploma in Professional Dance from Northern Ballet School; I hold certificates in Teaching Exercise, Movement and Dance to Adults and also Group Training to Music from EMD, the national governing body for group exercise. I am also a qualified Instructor for DDMIX and FITSTEPS.

Please wear something comfortable that you can move freely in. Most people wear leggings, vest tops and trainers.
A pair of clean indoor trainers to protect the studio floors. A bottle of water and maybe a small towel. Participants attending classes at Homewood Rd URC will need to bring a yoga/pilates mat with them. (Mats are available to borrow for classes held at the Pilates Workshop.)
The class is 60-minutes which includes the warm up, followed by a dance cardio session consisting of short routines in different dance styles to raise the heart rate. We then finish with a cool down section.
DanceCore is a medium intensity class, so your heart rate will be raised. You will get sweaty and out of breath, but you should still be able to talk! You can take the class at your own pace and adaptations will be shown to lower the intensity should you need. Water breaks are also taken throughout the session.
The class is aimed at all levels and modifications and adaptations will be provided. We definitely don’t take ourselves seriously and you should leave the class feeling like you’ve worked hard and had fun!
For the last 10-15 minutes of the class, we move on to our MSE (Muscular Strength Endurance) section focusing on body conditioning and different muscle groups. This can often include mat work on the floor. (Mats are available for use at the Pilates studio, but participants will need to bring their own mats for classes held at the Homewood Rd venue).
